Recently "World Experts" from W.H.O. were in Ireland at the behest of the Irish Cancer Society to demand the government punish Irish smokers who refuse to be bullied into quiting. Despite the smoking bans, draconian laws to punish those breaking it and multi million pound anti smoking campaigns more people are smoking in Ireland now than ever. The solution proposed by WHO is a €2 increase on a pack of 20. Ignoring the fact that Irish smokers pay more than any other European country if not any other country in the world for their cigarettes, the WHO "experts" demanded the Irish government increase tobacco taxes further.

Hopefully in the upcoming revolution all these 'Experts' and those who have imposed them on us will get hung out to dry

What percentage of people in Ireland smoke? 20%? 30%? That's a great minority to make voting block out of. If they all got together, along with sympathetic nonsmokers, couldn't they vote the rascals out and send representatives to Brussels that would work to end this madness???

just seen a video stating since smoking rates have falling so much over the years obesity has rising dramatically.its seems most people who quit smoking are now dying too early with stress and being overweight as tobacco is a self medication to calm the mind and body.wonder if the WHO will publish this somehow i doubt it. they have been too hasty frightening people to stop smoking but there again maybe this was the intention as there are too many people in the world.

This obesity thing is just another branch on the same tree. The "weight fascists" make the same exaggerated claims as the "smoke fascists". Yesterday on the radio someone quoted a statistic that 80% of African-American women are obese. 80%!!!!! And no one questioned it. They must define "obese" as anyone fatter than a stick figure. The point, of course, is that they're going to keep demonizing pleasure as a way of controlling people by keeping them in a state of fear and shame--alternating with periods of overindulgence.
