what a shame on ireland.....a so called modern country.....peadophiles and convicted child rapists are walking free from jail......the courts have just discovered we have no laws to protect children from them......disgusting...the government should resign

I can't describe how angry this makes me feel, i am going to try go to the protest tomorrow. This is what happens when you have a government sticking its nose into everywhere it shouldn't be, people are dying in our hospitals and child rapists walk free from court and prison.

People convicted of the rape of children are walking free, people are being kicked and battered to death outside bars and clubs and Irish law cannot convict anyone ! Crime is soaring, gangs are shooting it out on the streets and is it any wonder ? Our Justice Minister sticks his nose and resources into every area, but those that should be of real concern to him and indeed his office demands. For instance, when a few people were smoking in a bar in Galway, McDowell and the Attorney General Rory Brady at his behest busied themselves no end with it. This is part of the threatening letter sent to the owners by the Attorney General :“(Failure to comply).......If you do otherwise you will expose yourself to serious personal and financial consequences,” How's that for democracy for you ? The jackboot in action ! This Justice Minister and Attorney General have completely failed to notice that our laws governing child rape and underage sex were totally flawed despite warnings. Had they being doing the job they were supposed to do instead of sticking their noses and size ten jackboots into smokers maybe we would not be witnessing the spectre of child molesters being set free from prison onto the streets to once more prey on innocent children.

Seems the supreme court stepped in today. The rapist that was released has been re-arrested.

That letter by the atorney general to the owners of the galway pub was like something you would see at the beginning of the third reich in germany. Fascist bully boy tactics and nothing short of it
