Is that the the fat lady reaching for the microphone ? Bertie seems to be in a bit of fix doesn't he. He's been telling us all about how there has to be high standards in high places and on the back of the corruption scandals we all assumed Bertie was squeaky clean. But now it turns out he got €50,000 in donations he never declared. He claims it was personal loans from friends when he was in financial difficulties. Would we not all like to have friends like that. No matter what he likes to claim, loans you don't pay back are donations. And then there is the backhander of €10,000 he took for a speech. He never declared this or paid tax on it not to mention it is breach of all guidelines and regulations concerning his office.
The fat lady is definitely about to sing for Bertie. That is unless somebody manages to shut her up before she does. My money is on the fat lady

bertie said the smoking ban would be good because decent people will return to the pubs.......what an insult from him......but what bertie needs to know is that decent people do not borrow or accept €50,000 from friends and never pay them back.....

Well now lets face it, if MY friends offered me loan of 50K and i didnt have to pay it back, damn right I'd take it, but I never stood up in front of the country and proclaimed i was uncourruptable, serves the smug git right.
lI agree, it looks like time might be up for the Teflon Taoiseach, the scary question is.... who's next ?

Looks as if he is going to weasel out of it. What was the point of all the tribunals that have cost us tens of millions to expose the corruption of the politicians and rich and mighty if we allow it to happen all over again. Bertie took money from business people which he didnt declare to the tax man, but insists he did nothing wrong. Let me or you try it and see how wrong it would be

This makes me mad, and he is going to get away with it. is the tax man now going to accept people saying any undeclared money they have was given to them by friends ?
