An American study found traces of cocaine on 65% of random notes it tested. The same study was recently carried out in Ireland and to the shock and amazement of the ignorant, but not to the wise traces of cocaine were found on 100% of the random notes tested. For years now Ireland has been awash with the drug which is readily available at every social occasion and outlet. However like so many other issues in Ireland such as crime and health the government insist there is no crisis. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary a government minister only last week insisted Ireland does not have a cocaine problem. With idiots such as he at the helm just how much longer can the good ship Ireland stay afloat before floundering on the rocky shoreline it seems hellbent on heading toward ?

The only people that can be surprised by this are all those people who rarely go to pubs but demand laws that they are run the way they think bars should be run

Whaja mean? Don't be surprised if quite a lot of politicians and goody-goodies are on coke. Fashionable and risqué don't you know.

But remember blad those people are arrogant and believe laws are for mere mortals like us and any law they choose to ignore they are above.

What a difference a year makes. This thread was started at the beginning of 2007 when it seemed nobody in official Ireland knew or wanted to know about Ireland's cocaine epidemic. In fact it was emphatically denied by our politicians and officials with responsibly in this area such as health, law and justice. But now what have we, the papers and media are wall to wall with stories about our newly discovered cocaine epidemic, nearly every journalist in Ireland is on the case. What really gets me are the amount of self appointed experts, columnists, medical experts, politicians and publicity seeking wannabes now in the media sprouting all sorts of opinions on a subject and problem they didn't realise or refused to acknowledge existed earlier this year. If these people couldn't see what was going on under their very own noses then why in god's name do they believe they have anything worthwhile to say on the matter let alone offer solutions to ?

As if to prove your point rock, did you see questions and answers tonight ? This issue was the lead and the eminent panelists gave their valued opinions. Some economist who has just wrote a book wanted all tv and films with drug taking scenes or about drugs as a theme to be censored and banned, some silly woman from the labour party thought it was time to tackle the users and arrest people like celebs for just admitting to have taken cocaine, our smoking ban minister himself was on and waffled on about having to get the message across how dangerous drugs were, some journalist also waffled on about busting high profile clubs and of course there was plenty of 'time to get tough' bullshit with zero tolerance and rudy giuliani getting a mention. A comment by a viewer who suggested ireland become the singapore of europe and follow their totalitarian model about summed up the utter dribble that passed as current informed debate.
